Fig Lefevre is a theatre artist with an MFA in Dramaturgy and a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Feminist Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Before returning to academia, Fig spent three years developing a small non-profit organization focused on the wellness of transgender individuals through peer support groups, public education, and workshops. From the combined interests of social justice and applied theatre, Fig developed and currently facilitates a trans applied theatre troupe using techniques such as Theatre of the Oppressed, Playback Theatre, and Undesirable Elements. In addition to applied theatre work, Fig has also worked as a script reader, a production dramaturg, and as a teacher--most recently teaching courses such as Contemporary Playwrights of Color, Play Analysis for Production, and Queering Performance. When they aren't working, they enjoy woodworking, gardening, crafting, and spending time with their three silly pups.
